Suffolk County Man Breaks Into Nassau County Officer’s Home

A Suffolk County man is facing charges after police say he broke into the home of a Nassau County Police officer.

Suffolk County Police say a man identified as Franklin Almonte, 25, of Selden entered the home of off-duty Nassau County Police Officer Mark Kellerman through a kitchen window on Monday, Sept. 2 around 1:20 p.m.

Almonte allegedly fled when Officer Kellerman identified himself as a police officer, but he was subsequently stopped and restrained by the officer, who called 911. 

Almonte was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal trespassing and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was held overnight pending his Tuesday, Sept. 3 arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip.
